A group of travel content creators from South Korea, recruited by the China National Tourism Office in Seoul, embarked on an immersive journey through Yangzhou from July 30 to Aug 2.
Yangzhou and South Korea share a long history of cultural exchanges, with figures such as Choe Chiwon, a Silla scholar and poet who studied in Yangzhou and served as an official during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), making enduring contributions.
Through the first-person content of these overseas bloggers, Yangzhou aims to stimulate travel interest in the city among South Korean audiences and further the cultural and tourism exchanges between China and South Korea.

Their itinerary included classic cultural and tourist landmarks in Yangzhou. They toured the Slender West Lake, capturing the poetic scenery of the Jiangnan region (the area south of the lower Yangtze River); stepped into Geyuan and Heyuan gardens to admire the exquisite architectural art of these two classic Chinese gardens during the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911); wandered through Pishi Street, once a Ming (1368-1644) and Qing dynasty leather market, now a trendy, photogenic cultural alley where the ancient city's everyday life meets artistic flair.

They were treated to Yangzhou zaocha (early breakfast tea) and Huiyang cuisine, including Yangzhou fried rice and lion's head meatballs, which gave them an authentic taste of local culinary culture.
As night fell, they took a boat on the Grand Canal, gliding through 2,500 years of canal history.

After the tour, the creators will produce short videos and travel guides on Yangzhou that blend cinematic aesthetics, a soothing vibe, engaging storytelling, and practical tips. The content will be released on the official South Korean-language social platforms of the China National Tourism Office in Seoul and the influencers' personal accounts.
