Yangzhou's first shuttle bus route dedicated to pets started operating on Aug 26, marking a new addition to the city's public transportation network.

The route, jointly launched by Yangzhou Public Transport Group and Zhaotian Shiqu Paradise, a local pet-friendly park, runs between designated urban pick-up points and the park, providing shuttle services for pets going to daycare, birthday parties, outdoor walks, and boarding.
Safety and hygiene measures have been in place to ensure a safe and orderly journey. Before boarding, owners must present valid rabies vaccination certificates for their pets. Aggressive dog breeds and sick pets are not allowed on board, and trained staff are present throughout the ride to manage pet behavior.
Yangzhou has seen a growing number of pet-owning households over the past few years, and getting pets to boarding facilities or outdoor spaces in a convenient manner has become increasingly challenging for some residents.
By offering designated pick-up and drop-off services with professional pet care throughout the journey, the pet bus has addressed the pressing concerns of pet owners, bringing public transport services into a wider array of everyday life scenarios.
