Right line
A group of works blending elements of the Jiangsu Football City League, or Suchao, with the ancient craftsmanship of Yangzhou left visitors in awe at the 7th Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo, held from Aug 15 to 17 in Suzhou.
One of the highlights was a tongcao flower creation. Tongcao flowers, an intangible cultural heritage item crafted from the pith of the rice-paper plant, were used in the design of this work. The top of it was shaped like a football, and the overall form resembled the FIFA World Cup Trophy.
Another standout was a set of 13 adorable dough figurines. These figurines depicted the cartoon images of 13 football teams representing 13 cities across Jiangsu.
Additionally, there was an ostrich egg carving inscribed with a Suchao meme, "Competition first, friendship fourteenth", adding a humorous touch to the exhibition.
