Culture week for morning tea kicks off in Yangzhou

(chinadaily.com.cn)Updated: 2024-04-25

The 2024 Morning Tea Culture Week in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, will run from April 26 to May 2, showcasing the rich heritage of morning tea, a local tradition similar to Cantonese dim sum or Western brunch.

During this cultural event, several restaurants, including Quyuan Tea House and MGM Macau in Yangzhou, will collaborate to host a week-long morning tea tasting event.

To deepen people's understanding of Yangzhou's morning tea culture, a morning tea market will be set up in Sanwan Park.

Nearly 20 local catering enterprises will provide live demonstrations and tastings in the local food exhibition area, and the market will feature a national landmark food exhibition area. Dandong in Northeast China's Liaoning province, Yangzhou's sister city, will have its own product booth.

Throughout the culture week, seminars such as the exchange meeting between time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage food will be held to discuss industry development strategies.

For tourists visiting Yangzhou for the first time, information about morning tea tasting locations can be obtained by scanning the QR code below using WeChat.
