The number of visitors to monitored cultural and tourism venues in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, increased by 5.62 percent year-on-year during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, with total tourism consumption up 4.8 percent, according to a provincial smart cultural tourism platform.

Over the holiday, a rich array of traditional folk activities added to the festive fun. At Heyuan Garden, for example, people enjoyed activities such as wrapping zongzi and making sachets, immersing themselves in the charm of this traditional festival.

Dragon boat races held at the Seven Rivers and Eight Islands scenic area and in Yizheng, a county-level city of Yangzhou, brought speed, excitement and festive energy to the holiday.
On June 20, the second day of the holiday, Yangzhou hosted its home match against Lianyungang in the latest round of the Jiangsu Football City League. Before the match, Yangzhou rolled out a wide range of perks, covering tourist attractions, accommodation, dining, shopping, entertainment, and transportation, allowing Lianyungang residents to traverse the city more easily. On the day of the match alone, scenic spots across Yangzhou received over 11,000 tourists from Lianyungang.

The night economy also thrived during the holiday. Night cruises on the Grand Canal, alongside night tours of top attractions, such as Heyuan and Geyuan gardens, remained in operation, attracting nearly 5,000 tourists daily.
