Over the just concluded May Day holiday, monitored cultural tourism sites in Yangzhou saw a year-on-year increase of 8.37 percent in visitors, while total tourist spending rose by 7.85 percent, according to a provincial smart culture and tourism platform.

Yangzhou's vibrant spring scenery, combined with diverse travel experiences, drew large crowds. The flower festival at the Slender West Lake scenic area was in full swing, attracting 354,000 visitors. The scenic spot earned a place on the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's recommended flower-viewing list and Ctrip's top 10 popular flower-viewing and spring outing attractions.

Nighttime tourism also came alive. Cruises on the Grand Canal, along with night tours at Slender West Lake, Heyuan Garden, and Geyuan Garden, remained popular throughout the holiday, drawing over 10,000 visitors per day on average.
Rural tourism boomed across Yangzhou's county-level cities. In Yizheng, the Yangzhou International Horticulture Expo Garden received a total of 60,000 visitors during the holiday. In Baoying, Laodongmen Block launched a carnival, featuring robot parades, drone shows, and rural-themed activities, fueling a rural tourism boom.
During the May Day holiday, the Yangzhou branch of the Chinese Poetry Museum opened, attracting many literature enthusiasts eager to explore the poetic charm of Yangzhou. The Yangzhou Museum, together with museums from other cities, held a joint exhibition of fine cultural relics, welcoming nearly 200,000 visitors.
