Holiday sees spring economy boom in Yangzhou

During the Qingming Festival holiday and spring break, Yangzhou launched a rich lineup of cultural and tourism activities focused on boosting the spring economy, welcoming large numbers of visitors eager to enjoy the beautiful spring scenery and local customs.

The holiday market boomed. Yangzhou ranked among the top 20 popular destinations nationwide during the spring break on travel platform Ctrip and made the top 10 during the Qingming Festival holiday on travel platform Mafengwo.

With spring flowers in full bloom, flower viewing became a major draw. Cherry blossoms lining Jianzhen Road and rapeseed flower fields alongside Gaoyou Lake attracted huge crowds. With various blooming flowers, the Slender West Lake scenic area was listed among the top 10 popular flower-viewing destinations on the Tongcheng tourism platform.

Parks and open spaces offered healing spring getaways. Activities such as bird photography exhibitions at Zhuyuwan Scenic Spot and kite festivals at Zhuyu Town proved popular with families.

While returning to their hometowns for ancestral worship, people also explored the countryside for leisure. Multiple rural consumption scenes, such as the lobster festival in Jiangdu district and the tea-making experience in Yizheng, have become popular destinations to unwind.
