The Yangzhou Taizhou International Airport celebrated its 14th anniversary on May 8.

In the past 14 years, the airport has increasingly established itself as a vital aviation hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.

In 2025, the airport served 4.16 million passengers, marking the first time it exceeded 4 million. It ranked 52nd among 268 transport airports in China. Its cargo and mail throughput also reached 15,000 metric tons, an increase of 18.8 percent compared to the previous year, setting a record high since its establishment.

For the 2026 summer flight season, the airport has partnered with 13 airlines, offering flights to 40 cities and 42 destinations both at home and abroad.

The airport has introduced express air shuttle services, featuring six daily flights to Guangzhou and five to Chengdu. It also maintains a regular schedule of three to four daily flights to Shenzhen and Chongqing.

In addition, the airport has launched direct tourist routes to scenic destinations such as Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Zhangjiajie, and Guilin. Morning and evening flights to Xi'an are now available, and flight frequency has been increased on all routes to Harbin.

With an investment of 5.6 billion yuan ($828.55 million), the second phase of the airport's expansion is in its final stage. The main structure of Terminal 2, designed to resemble a crane spreading its wings, has been completed. The entire project is expected to be finished and operational within the year.
