The annual Slender West Lake Flower Festival opened on April 8 and will run until May 8, offering a poetic and vibrant spring experience for visitors.

A grand opening ceremony took place on the morning of April 8, featuring cultural performances that showcased the garden's artistic charm. A special flower-viewing map was unveiled during the ceremony, guiding visitors through the garden's floral wonders. The "Twelve Flower Goddesses" also made an appearance, adding an elegant touch to the garden.

Throughout the festival, five famous flower varieties, including peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, crabapple flowers, Chinese snowball viburnum, and elegant peonies, have entered full bloom, showcasing the scenic spot's romantic spring scenery.
The festival also features a flower market where visitors can experience intangible cultural heritage activities such as velvet flower making, paper-cutting, and woodblock printing. There's also a calligraphy and painting exhibition that displays flower-and-bird paintings, complementing the garden's blooming scenery.

On weekends during the festival, immersive storytelling performances bringing classic flower-related stories to life and band shows combining ancient musical rhythms with the romantic garden setting will provide a delightful audiovisual experience. Moreover, a male performer wearing zanhua, a type of floral headdress, will pass out exquisite small gifts, making the experience more immersive and interactive.
