Founded in 1885, the teahouse is well-known for its original tea and dim sum, whose making skills were designated as an intangible cultural heritage item in 2022.

At the event, Records of Fuchun Tea and Snacks in China was launched. This work systematically summarizes the development trajectory and preparation techniques of Fuchun tea and dim sum. As the first historical record of a catering enterprise in Jiangsu province, it has been designated as a key project by the provincial local chronicles office.

The teahouse is nicknamed the "Whampoa Military Academy for Huaiyang Cuisine" for China's culinary masters such as Xu Yongzhen and Xue Quansheng, both renowned Huaiyang cuisine chefs, have once honed their skills here. Later, together with their apprentices, they have brought the quintessence of Huaiyang Cuisine to dining tables overseas.

Nowadays, Fuchun is no longer just a standalone teahouse; it has expanded into a chain with six directly-operated stores and over 20 franchise stores.

As a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Yangzhou's culinary charm is underpinned by centuries-old establishments like Fuchun and enhanced by a new wave of culinary forces, including Michelin-starred restaurants, Black Pearl restaurants, and those listed in the Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant Guide and the La Liste's 2025 Global Gastronomy List. These diverse dining options make this culinary gem shine even brighter.
