Yangzhou, cradle by the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and Panama, the heartbeat of its namesake waterway — Panama Canal, both bloom through canal connectivity and openness.
During the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), Yangzhou exported goods like silks and lacquerware globally via canals, forging early trade ties with South Asia and Europe. Echoing this storied past, Yangzhou has now established sister-city relations with over 40 cities across more than 20 countries.

The exhibition features two distinct yet interconnected themes. One unfolds through dual cultural lenses, depicting the stories along the two world-renowned canals, while the other breathes life into the exotic expressions of creators enchanted by Panama, inviting viewers to step into its indigenous soul.
It displays over 100 masterpieces by Chinese and Panamanian artists, interpreting the China-Panama friendship through the perspectives of three generations: the young, the middle-aged, and the elderly.
According to organizers, the ultimate goal of the exhibition is to reflect on the past, envision the future, and increase scientific awareness of the world's changes alongside a comprehensive understanding of our common human destiny.
