Guizhou's Miao and Dong culture to light up Yangzhou

Yangzhou in Jiangsu province will come alive as performers from the Miao and Dong ethic groups in Guizhou province kick off a cultural carnival on May 31.

The Kam Grand Choir, a traditional folk art form of the Dong people, often acclaimed as "the world's oldest form of a cappella," will be a highlight, enchanting visitors with its harmonious vocals.
Subsequently, the Miao people will present their age-old wine-serving ceremony, a traditional ritual steeped in hospitality, where they will cordially halt guests at least three times to offer toasts, displaying their signature hospitality.

Alongside these ceremonial displays, the Miao people's Jinji Dance, performed in exquisite traditional costumes, will captivate spectators with its intricate choreography and rhythmic movements.
Additionally, a medley of classic Miao love songs, characterized by their poetic lyrics and melodious tunes, will transcend language barriers to resonate with listeners.

As night descends, a grand "Miao Disco" will be held, offering a fusion of ethnic charm and modern electronic beats that is unlike anything else. Around the roaring bonfire, visitors of all ages will move to the rhythm of the music and sing their hearts out under the star-lit sky. It will be a night to remember.
