Wanhua Garden, located in the Slender West Lake scenic area, one of the most popular landmarks in Yangzhou, recently kicked off its annual flower festival, which lasts for one month.

From dazzling tulips to elegant peonies, and from fresh Chinese snowball viburnums to romantic crabapple blossoms, the garden is bursting with color. This year also introduces new flower varieties like common plantains, azaleas, and hydrangeas.

In addition, a variety of traditional Chinese-style performances are being satged on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the festival, including a captivating live-action drama where performers act as famous officials from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), a lively concert intertwining classical and contemporary musical elements, graceful dance shows portraying the enduring love story of Dream of the Red Chamber, a zanhua (a floral headdress) experience, and more.

"The festival is incredibly engaging. I like admiring the flowers, participating in flower-themed events and learning about the stories behind them. It truly feels like a journey through time," said Miss Wang, a visitor from Nanjing.
