When rice becomes art

Here are examples of rice paddy art, or tanbo, in Maji town of Yizheng city in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

These works feature Yangzhou's cultural elements such as the Wuting Bridge on Slender West Lake and red crowned cranes.

Tanbo originated in Japan and involves farmers planting rice of different colors to create visuals.
