Tourists to Yangzhou to receive free tour of historical sites

Tourists to Yangzhou, a renowned tourist destination in East China's Jiangsu province, have the chance to receive a free tour this Saturday.

The first 35 people to dial the registration hotline – 15152788979 – will receive a free tour of scenic spots such as Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall and Guazhou Ferry Park. The tour will include a senior national-level tour guide.

Those attending the tour will meet at Tianning Temple.

The first stop on the tour is Zhang Ruoxu Memorial Hall. Zhang Ruoxu was a Chinese poet from Yangzhou who lived during the early Tang dynasty (618-907). He is best known for "Spring River in the Flower Moon Night", one of the most unique and influential Tang poems.

Spanning nearly 2,000 square meters, the memorial hall tries to recreate the scenes described in the poem through the combination of different mediums.

Next on the tour is Guazhou Ferry Park. Guazhou, located at the confluence of the Grand Canal and the Yangtze River, is an ancient ferry with a history stretching back thousands of years. It is place frequently mentioned in poems.
