Spring Airlines completed its inaugural direct flight to Yulin, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, from Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province on July 12.
The route is operated by an Airbus A320, with three round trips a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flight lasts for 2.5 hours.
Yangzhou Mayor Zhang Baojuan congratulated the airline for launching the flight to Yulin. She said that since 2017, Yangzhou has provided assistance to Yulin by giving financial support and carrying out exchanges on industry and social affairs, to help Yulin get out of poverty.
Zhang said she expected Yangzhou Taizhou International Airport to provide better air services and develop into an international transport hub.
Wang Zhijie, chairman of Spring Airlines, said that it will be more convenient for Yangzhou and Yulin to share tourism and economic resources through the new flights.
Wang added that Yangzhou airport is an important base for the development of Spring Airlines in East China, and the company will open more flights to countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and in Southeast Asia.
