The 2019 Canal Culture Carnival is set to kick off in Yangzhou's Songjiacheng Scenic Area tonight.
A parade consisting of 12 water floats named after cities along the Grand Canal, such as Beijing, Hangzhou and Yangzhou, will be the main event at the carnival.
The 12 boats will be connected for a total length of more than two kilometers, creating a magnificent view for local residents as well as visitors to the city.
In addition to the parade, a light show, food fiesta and local intangible heritage exhibitions will be staged.
The carnival is slated to last until Oct 6.
