Park recreates scenes in essays

(chinadaily.com.cn)Updated: 2019-09-24

In Yangzhou, a park is named after China's celebrated writer Zhu Ziqing.

Perching on the bank of Liaojia River where the prolific writer’s hometown locates, Zhu Ziqing Park covers an area of 58,200 square meters.

Based on Zhu's famous essays The Sight of Father's Back, Summer in Yangzhou and Moonlight over the Lotus Pond, the park recreates the scenes with gardening techniques.

The park, which opened to the public in late 2018, serves as a base of patriotic education, guiding teenagers to actively practice core socialist values, as well as to inherit and advance Mr Zhu's patriotism and national emotions.
