An international children's guzheng (or Chinese zither) invitational tournament was held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province on Aug 13, local media reported.
The fifth edition of the tournament, rolled out in five categories, gathered over 500 candidates from all over the country.
Li Jiahui, a 16-year-old candidate from Yichang, Jiangxi province said that her performance this year is much better than last year's in terms of degree of completion and emotional expression.
The players' competitiveness scaled new highs this year and the participants made outstanding progress during the five years, said Xu Wenbei, one of the judges.
The five yearly events have promoted the cultivation and emergence of guzheng talents and spread the reputation of those in Yangzhou.
