It's tradition for the winners of the Yangzhou Jianzhen International Half Marathon to plant two gingko trees in the champion forest in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.

The activity took place on April 21 this year, after curtain dropped on the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) Gold Label road race.

Those who are interested can learn about the winners by scanning the QR code on the trees they planted.

Kenya's Perine Nengampi won with a time of 1:08:04 in the women's race while Berehanu Tsegu of Ethiopia clinched the men's title with a powerful home stretch run in which he passed Kenya's Moses Kibet in the last 500 meters to break the tape in a time of 00:59:56.
