The Slender West Lake cultural creative center opened on Oct 24 at Yangzhou's most well-known scenic area, presenting over 200 kinds of cultural souvenirs for visitors.
It is hoped that the center will further integrate local culture and tourism.
"The charm of the Slender West Lake can attract a lot of visitors while our creative products can truly win people's hearts," said Jin Chuan, an official from the scenic area.
Jin said he hoped the center could be a gathering place for local artists including traditional craftsmen and fashion designers and boost the development of the city's cultural creative industry.
As an attempt to lure visitors, a series of souvenirs themed on the stories of Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799) of the Qing Dynasty in Yangzhou was released on the opening day of the center.

Covering various daily used items including key chains, postcards and fans, the products took after Emperor Qianlong's collection of cultural relics, with his favorite enamel technique also being used in some of the products.
Combining traditional arts and modern technology elements, distinctive patterns used on the series of products were also related to the Slender West Lake to let visitors learn more about the history of the scenic area.
