'Yangzhou's Three Knives', a good choice for relaxation

Tourists who are willing to have a true taste of Huaiyang cuisine and enjoy a relaxing beauty treatment may find their way to Yangzhou City, Jiangsu province to experience "Yangzhou's Three Knives".

"Yangzhou's Three Knives", or "Yangzhou Sanbadao" in Chinese, refers to three kinds of knives--the kitchen knife, pedicure knife and haircut knife. The kitchen knife represents the food service industry; the pedicure knife is the bath industry; the haircut knife is the beauty industry.

The three industries, after nearly 300 years of development, have become points of reference to the city's traditional culture.

Yangzhou Sanbadao was listed among the provincial-level intangible cultural heritages in Jiangsu province in 2007.

Recommended place to experience "Yangzhou's Three Knives":

Dongguan Street

It is an important 1,100-meter-long thoroughfare in Yangzhou dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Currently it is a historic arcade of arts, crafts and local snacks.

Transportation: bus No 25, bus No 45, bus No 52, bus No 58; Shuttle buses; Sightseeing buses (Mar-Nov)
