The 2026 edition showcases enhanced professionalism and an expanded scale.

For the first time, it integrates the Yangzhou Half Marathon, the East-Asian Half Marathon Championships, and the Grand Canal Marathon Series into a unified event.

The race capacity has been increased to 23,000 participants, up 3,000 from last year, with runners representing 35 countries and regions.

The course follows the classic route, starting at Citizen Square Plaza and ending at Wenxi West Road. Along the way, it weaves through local landmarks such as the Grand Canal, Dongguan Ancient Ferry, and Wenchang Pavilion.

This year's event will offer a range of heart-warming perks. Runners, volunteers, and staff can access nearly 50 national A-level tourist attractions for free with valid ID and a work pass or race bib from March 25 to 31.

Marathoners can ride the city's public transport and event shuttles at no cost from March 26 to 29. After the race, professional foot massages will ease their fatigue.

First held in 2006, this long-standing marathon has drawn tens of thousands of runners annually. With its picturesque course, professional organization, and abundant perks, it remains one of the most popular half marathons in China.
