The event gathered over 20 students from six countries, including Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, to venture on a three-day exploration into the historical heritage, cultural charm, and development vitality of Yangzhou, a millennia-old city.
Stepping into Renfengli Historical and Cultural Block and Yangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Treasure Hall, the students tried their hand at writing Spring Festival couplets and printing New Year pictures.
After that, they proceeded to Yechun Teahouse and Huaiyang Cuisine Museum of China, savoring the culinary philosophy of Huaiyang cuisine, one of the Four Great Traditions that dominate the culinary heritage of China.
They took leisurely strolls through the Slender West Lake and the Yunhe Sanwan scenic area and visited the China Grand Canal Museum, gaining deeper insights into the city's canal civilization and elegant gardening landscapes.
Through visits to leading indigenous enterprises, they also got acquainted with the rapid penetration of intelligent manufacturing in China.
With a history of 2,500 years, Yangzhou has grown into an esteemed historical and cultural city. From being a crucial junction between the "Land Silk Road" and "Maritime Silk Road" to boosting its global appeal as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, a City of World Canals, and a Culture City of East Asia, Yangzhou keeps promoting mutual learning with openness and inclusivity.
