Yangzhou, with a history of more than 2,500 years, was among the first batch of national historical and cultural cities designated by the State Council.
Visitors will find themselves overwhelmed by the ancient city’s rich culture, exquisite art and unique folk customs. Those looking for something more relaxing can spend the afternoon at one of the city’s many 24-hour bookstores, which are never more than 15 minutes away by foot.
