The World Canal Cities Forum will be held in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province from Sept 26 to Oct 6, local media reported.
Co-organized by the World Historic and Cultural Canal Cities Cooperation Organization (WCCO) and China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (CNCPEC), the forum is aimed to bring together canal cities and urban economies worldwide for the purposes of exploring the inheritance of canal legacy.
In addition to the world-class conference, a culture and tourism festival will be held on the event's sidelines.
A total of 19 activities, including a light show, shadow play, photo exhibition and food party shall be staged in five venues across the city. Songjiacheng scenic area will be the main venue for 15 events.
A grand parade featuring performers from countries such as Russia and Ukraine will also be held.
Those looking for something to do over the National Day holiday should definitely consider Yangzhou.
