With the Duanwu Festival (also known as the Dragon Boat Festival) just around the corner, in Yangzhou, East Chinas Jiangsu province, you can see some unique scenery which can only be seen in this period of time.

The flowers of Sweet flag (acorus calamus) came into full bloom recently at Yangzhous Slender West Lake. As a tradition of the Duanwu Festival, people hang the plants leaves on their doors to ward off insects and snakes. [Photo/yznews.com.cn]
