With the winter being arguably the best season for bird-watching, two new bird specials, the Eurasian curlew and the Japanese grosbeak, were observed in Yangzhou, East China’s Jiangsu province by local bird-watchers recently.
Among the numerous migratory birds in Yangzhou in the winter, the most familiar one to bird-watchers is the red-billed gull.
At present, flocks of red-billed gulls have arrived in Yangzhou and can be seen at some waterside areas, including the Gaoyou Lake and Shaobo Lake.
To date, a total of 277 kinds of birds have been observed in Yangzhou.
