The 2018 Slender West Lake Chrysanthemum Fair commenced on Oct 25 in Yangzhou and will last until Nov 25, displaying over 10,000 pots of chrysanthemum in approximately 600 varieties.
Over 10 varieties of chrysanthemum are on show at the fair, including black chrysanthemum.
In addition to the increase in varieties and numbers, this year's fair has made alterations to its overall layout.
Eight themed exhibition areas are available for visitors, with themes such as essence chrysanthemum, potted chrysanthemum and flower arrangement.

Activities integrating chrysanthemum culture and Yangzhou intangible cultural heritages such as fan painting, woodblock printing and paper-cutting are also taking place during the fair.
The chrysanthemum blooms in the autumn and holds a special significance to the recent Double Ninth Festival, hence the timing of the fair.
